New school in southern Africa – Eswatini
Acts29 offers you a unique experience in the countries we visit. During the weeks, we live together with other young people on our base, where we engage in teaching, fellowship, devotions, and much more. On weekends and during some full weeks, you will have the opportunity to stay in African homes and share life with families from different congregations.
Eswatini is a small, mountainous kingdom nestled in the eastern part of South Africa, with its eastern border adjoining Mozambique. The country is unique in Africa for its system of government—an absolute monarchy. King Mswati III has ruled since 1986, and in 2018, he changed the country’s name from Swaziland to its present-day name, Eswatini.
In this small nation, our partner church is The Alliance Church in Eswatini (TACE), with whom we are organizing this fall’s school. TACE, the partner church of the Swedish Alliance Mission (SAM), was founded in the early 1900s by Swedish missionaries from SAM. Over the years, the church has grown into a stable and well-functioning organization, now present in seven districts with 45 local congregations across the country.
A School for the Whole World
The school will begin in Eswatini in early September 2025. Nordic participants and leaders will start on August 25th with a few introductory days at Karlskoga Folkhögskola.
After that, we will travel together to the school’s base, located just outside the city of Manzini.
On weekends, you will be part of a team assigned to a ‘home church’ in one of the local congregations. This will give us the opportunity to connect with families and experience their daily lives up close.
Throughout the fall, we will also go on three full-week internships in different regions of the country. During these internships, we will meet incredible people and contribute to the work of the congregations
